St. Andrew’s is blessed to have trained mentors for both men and women. Additionally there are several other trained mentors in our diocese and the Archdiocese of KCK. If you are interested in working with a Catholic Spiritual Mentor, and to get some more information, you may use the form located here.
In 2011, Pope Benedict XVI wrote, “As she has never failed to do, again today the Church continues to recommend the practice of spiritual direction, not only to all those who wish to follow the Lord up close, but to every Christian who wishes to live responsibly his baptism, that is, the new life in Christ.” Catholics of all walks of life make use of spiritual direction in order to grow closer to the Lord and fulfil their call to holiness given at Baptism. Spiritual direction or mentorship consists of conversation with a trained spiritual director or mentor, focused on growth in prayer, the Sacramental life, increased understanding of the Catholic faith, and other areas of spiritual life.
The role of a spiritual mentor is to help foster a deeper union with Jesus through prayer, learning, good conversation and accountability. Spiritual Mentors have completed a two year course of study and prayer with the Apostles of the Interior Life and the Holy Family School of Faith.
